Wow they should release an entire issue around this subject.
@Butlerthey meaning the channel i‘m pretty sure
@Butlerthis is the channel for consumer reports(a magazine)
Agreed. And, every single teen/young adult needs to pay close attn. especially to NOT overstuffing and NOT to use too much soap. 🤦♀️
@crazy comments Oh genuinely thank you for informing me. I was like… an article on a YouTube channel? Lmao
*me with a sense of fulfillment because I’ve never done any of these things*
The validation is SATISFYING especially from a dude with an accent like his ❤
Hell, I’ve barely ever done laundry
Yep, apparently I’m a laundry expert bc I’ve never done any of these either 😂
I have done it for years.
And you should be proud and own this 😂💖
I watched my mom tear our washer apart scrub it piece by piece and fix whatever was wrong with it after my brother overloaded it one too many times……….I’ve never seen so much anger and rage in my life and I never want to see it again…….. follow this man’s advice.
I just did the same thing with a vacuum cleaner at my office because it’s probably been there for 10 years and no one’s ever thought to clean the hose out😐
Cheers to your mom being able to do that instead of having to call a repairman. I wouldn’t dare— necessity or no.
@akaste Did the same with our home vacuum cleaner as my kid is raging about the piece o crap vacuum & throw it out we need a new one. 1. Hose was 100% clogged 2. Someone vacuumed up something wet (I think spilled cereal). I had to chisel out the ducting and do a partial tear down
I broke my old washing machine by overloading it. So sad, it was super old and I loved it
@Katpoor guy
My mom literally refuses to not over stuff the washer. She has broken every washer she’s owned. I tell her on almost a daily basis to not do it and she still does it
Same here. And she always told me growing up to fill the washer to the max, but I have since learned otherwise
show her this video!
Lol my mum also likes stuffing it as much as she can. My dad has had to fix it many times, when it’s broken it likes to leak water everywhere which is fun
Let her live with her mistakes.
As a housewife, and mother to 5 children, I can attest that this man is spitting straight facts.
👊🏻 good work!
@Scott Thomaswhy the punch ? 😂
@MSun Je it a fist pump lol!
So many kids wow.
@Kimchi, I honestly wish I had more.
I want to hear more from this man
Same
he’s wrong about fabric softener .
@shydreamguy manyh i agreed with all but that one cause i use it
@shydreamguy man How is he wrong?
@shydreamguy mannah fabric softener is bad for your skin and makes the internals of your washer disgusting and gummed up, you dont need it
This man just taught me more about laundry in 60 seconds then my mom ever did
1) fabric softeners actually damage your machine. You’re better off with a dryer sheet. They they can be reused until they don’t exist anymore.
2) stripping your laundry from the beach should be done outside if possible but if you can’t, the bath can work but you need to get the sand out.
There might be other circumstances that require stripping outside of a machine but the one I’m familiar with is wetsuits from the beach.
3) using too much will cause build up and your clothes will stop getting cleaned. You’ll need to clean your machine with a tablet or something to fix it.
1 cm or half an inch in your measuring device that came with the soap is more than enough.
4) in addition to the stained clothing, never put clothing that has come into contact with gasoline in the dryer. Even on low heat. The clothes could combust but also just throw them out – they will eventually rot away.
It’s easier to remove oil stains with dawn soap. That clean ducky photo of an actual ducky that was covered in one of the oil spills — cleaned with dawn.
5) over filling is defined as not being able to see the top half from the front facing window. And the top 2/3rd (only fill 1/3) of a top loading machine.
Break it up into parts. It will actually take less time to do it this way but will require more effort.
If one item takes up more than that, go to a laundry mat.
@davidfisher1135 oh my goodness thank you so much!!
I didn’t know about the gasoline until now 😅
Hopefully others can read your comment to learn a thing or two if needed
It’s not rocket science though
That’ll be $300 for this therapy session…
@David Fisher🙏🏽
That “it’s a waste-a money” really caught and kept my attention.
He’s very New York
@Steve Mattero New York is also a waste of money.
@Steve Mattero Hah, thanks for that. I’m trying to distinguish various US accents and wasn’t sure if this was just American-Italian or New York.
he sounded texan tho
@Mitzuriki would you be serious!?
Solid advice delivered in a professional manner. Exquisite
What pleasant and calming music. We need more of this.
I agree with the fabric softener..i once had an itchy skin for a week until i figured it out.
It also ruins those fluffy blankets and sherpa fabrics (dryer sheets do too)
Note: if you have hard water laundry is gonna be more complicated for you. If you can’t soften your water it might end up being a good idea to use more than the minimum detergent.
It’s better to buy the hard water additive. They have them for dishwashers too. Way better results than using more detergent. You just add a bit to every load.
@no no If you *can* soften your water, that’s better (and can frequently be done by adding washing soda or borax to each load, if you aren’t allowed to alter the machine itself). If you *can’t* soften your water, you may have to use more detergent.
@rearctHe said that leaves a residue which isn’t rinsing all the way out. You’d have to probably use an extra clear water rinse cycle I guess?
@Gasp!7000 Yeah, a second rinse is usually a good idea.
@Gasp!7000I use extra soap on one of my cloth diaper cycles, and I make sure to do two rinses at the end. All the poop residue and pee need to be washed out, need enough soap for it. Regular clothes, not so much.
I never knew that I would need advice from this man.
Subbed, and please, more tips. This was probably the most useful vid I have seen on Youtube in a long while.
6. Forget to have your dryer vents cleaned on a regular basis.
And clean your dryer’s lint trap.
My dryer vent is 2″ long
@S D as it should be. Rarer then common though. Most go 15 to 35 feet even when it defies codes. Every elbow or ninety takes about 5 ft off the allowed run length but people don’t know or care. Also should be solid metal in the walls floors ceilings and crawl spaces but that doesn’t stop people from taping transition hoses together.
Absolutely! Most importantly, all that backed up lint is a fire hazard. Side note: if air can’t circulate nothing will dry, so you waste money and time drying things over and over.
I need just that “Why?!” as its own short or a gif!
The vidual and audio is the perfect response to so many things, lmao
You know a gif doesn’t have sound right?
@AutomatonI bet I could make a gif produce sound if it was your mom.
@Boocackeed quackhead idek my mom
One day you’re young and the next you’re taking notes from these shorts
This man saying “It’s a waste of money” was literally the most compelling argument I’ve heard in the last four years.
I will die on a hill for fabric softener/conditioner. It smells too good
These are the YouTube shorts I need.
I need to hear more from this man, his accent makes me feel at home.
