This week, we share our first impressions of the 2022 Audi A3. We discuss how the A3 stacks up against competing compact sport sedans and debate whether or not a vehicle can be considered both entry-level and luxury. We also answer a question on the best tire pressure for snowy driving conditions.

Where’s Ryan?
First!
looks like los desmayos beat you to it, lol
Why has the length of the episodes shrunk?
Awesome
I’ve owned the B5 A4, B6 A4 3.0, B7 S4 V8 (yes, with the moronic timing belt at the firewall that requires engine removal), B8 A4, B9.5 – all Quattro. The A3 has a Haldex fwd “quattro” that is basically a rebadged VW awd. Quattro with torsen diff is a true Audi awd system that, imo, works better in all conditions.
I’m done with Audi because the new infotainment and hvac controls are laughably bad. The dual screens aren’t going to cut it. Still beautiful cars but the lack of proper human interface is not luxury car material and I don’t need to impress anyone with screens per square inch of dashboard.
Were they reliable? How many miles did they have
Some of the local news channels in the Charlotte area mentioned lowering tire pressure for better traction in the snow. I think it’s a common belief in areas where people don’t have a lot of experience driving in snow. The colder temperatures were enough to trip my tpms light. I checked the pressures and saw they were a few psi low and added air when I stopped for gas that week.
Great point!

At least the A3 looks better than the Q3. The Q3 looks.. strange.
I daily 2016 A3 Sportback. It is a decent car but the new one has less power. I also prefer the interior of the older 8V over the newer 8Y platform since it is clear the cost cutting is there for VW group.
